SBP Standard 1; Principle 3 – Public Consultation

Our Standards Development Process, launched in May 2020, is the first significant multi-stakeholder engagement undertaken by SBP following the transition to a multi-stakeholder governed organisation in 2019.

The Standards Development Process is designed to encourage and realise a wide-ranging review, and where necessary revision, of our Standards with full stakeholder participation. SBP is seeking an open, inclusive, and constructive sharing of views, options, and opinions amongst our stakeholder community.

After two years of intense discussions and reflection the Working Groups drafted the principles, criteria, and indicators of the revised Standards. Since then, the draft revised Standards have been handed over to the Technical Committee.

The draft revised Standards are currently undergoing pilot testing with SBP Certificate Holders and Certification Bodies.

At the request of the Standards Committee, the Secretariat is conducting a public consultation focusing on Principle 3 of SBP Standard 1: Feedstock Compliance.

The objective of the public consultation is threefold:
  1. Inform stakeholders of the Standard review work, specifically the status of Principle 3;
  2. Gather expert input and suggestions to ensure the clarity of the requirements; and
  3. Identify the need for specific guidance to Principle 3 to be developed once the Standard has been approved.

The consultation is open until 30 June 2022.
