Thank you for being a current Wesley Mission Queensland volunteer! 

Our residential aged care communities at Chermside,  Sinnamon Park, and Geebung are seeking volunteers to assist in welcoming visitors to our aged care communities.   
 
The concierge role will comprise of tasks such as:
  • Welcoming visitors to the aged care community
  • Liaising with residents, staff, volunteers, contractors, and other visitors
  • Reviewing each visitor against the entry criteria
  • Provide access to visitors that comply with relevant criteria
  • Restrict access to visitors that do not comply and provide an explanation as to why
  • Document visitor access for those who are able to visit and also those denied entry
  • Report any feedback or requests through to the appropriate staff.
This volunteer role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and display a calm, caring and empathetic manner.

Volunteering shifts are available five days a week between the hours of 9am - 4pm on a roster system. Time frames are flexible to suit your availability.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and the safety of our residents and workforce, we ask that volunteers expressing an interest in this role meet with the following criteria:
  • Are under 65 years of age and over 16 years of age
  • Have received the 2021 influenza vaccination or willing to acquire before commencement in this role (proof of this vaccination is required)
  • Have received the first Covid vaccination (proof of this vaccination is required)
  • Have NOT arrived from overseas in the preceding 14 days
  • Have NOT arrived from a Covid hotspot in the preceding 14 days
  • Are healthy and well (temperatures are taken on arrival).

Please note that it is now federal legislation that all residential aged care volunteers can show proof that they have received an annual Influenza vaccination and first Covid vaccination.. You will be required to show proof of your vaccination prior to commencement.
