Can you play a musical instrument and would like to bring joy to others by sharing your talent?

Our aged care communities at various locations are looking for individual performers or small musical groups who would like to play old-time favorites, hymns or classical pieces of music. Volunteer Musicians can play for individual residents or in a group setting if preferred.

Volunteer musicians contribute to a therapeutic and comforting environment. Listening to music reduces levels of anxiety and pain, promotes memories and creates enjoyment and smiles for all those who are involved.

This role is suitable for people who can play a musical instrument, have well developed interpersonal skills, good communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.

Volunteer times are flexible and available 7 days a week from 9.30am until 6pm. These will be organised on an individual basis to suit all.
This program is located within the Welsey Mission Queensland's Aged Care Communities where the residents enjoy a wonderful sense of life, fun, and friendship.

We have embraced the internationally-recognised Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care and our communities are a welcoming and rewarding place to volunteer where you will meet many wonderful people and learn great new skills that may assist you both personally and professionally. There are lots of other benefits to volunteering with us as well, such as:
  • Great education opportunities
  • Exclusive shopping discounts
  • Access to online and face-to-face wellness advisors
  • Free Flu Vaccinations
  • Invitations to social events
  • Being part of a team that really is making a difference in the lives of seniors in our Aged Care Communities.
