Address: Anam Cara Aged Care Community, 42-52 Lavarack Avenue, Bray Park QLD 4500
Do you love to discuss current affairs, politics, history, travel or books? YES, then we need you! Bring a friend if you like!
Our Anam Cara aged care residents have a wide range of knowledge, skills and life experiences to share. They are looking for like minded people to discuss current affairs, politics, history, music, travel or any other relevant and interesting topics with them. If you are a person who enjoys a good conversation and value and respect the wisdom of older people, we would love for you to facilitate a weekly or fortnightly small discussion group. Bring your own topic or work with us to find shared interests.
As a Discussion Group Facilitator you can assist residents by:
· Ensuring residents remain actively engaged, encouraged and inspired
· Encouraging independence, friendship and fun in a relaxed environment
· Developing meaningful relationships
· Being spontaneous and sharing your abilities
· Providing support and reassurance while residents are involved in the discussion.
The role of the Discussion Group Facilitator is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm, caring and empathetic manner. Volunteering is a great way to make a difference in the lives of our seniors while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.
Volunteering hours for this role can be made flexible to suit you and your lifestyle commitments.
