Male Volunteers - Mateship

Do you have some time to spare?

Why not utilise this time to make new friends, share stories, laugh, joke and enjoy the company of one or two of our wonderful male residents?

Our Knowles Court Aged care Community is seeking male volunteers to partake in supportive discussions on a variety of topics that interest both you and the resident you visit. Discussions may include topics such as sport, travel, gardening, cars or hobbies. You may also like to play a game such as scrabble or cards or enjoy a cuppa together outside in the gardens. For our residents connecting with a person from their local community will boost self-esteem, promote joy and laughter and improve their overall health and wellbeing.

Volunteers are welcome to visit weekdays between the hours of 9am till 4pm and other hours can be organised if required.

This volunteering role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner.

Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.

Our Aged Care communities are places of warmth, smiles and hugs, where residents enjoy a wonderful sense of life, fun, and friendship.

Wesley Mission Aged Care Communities have embraced the internationally-recognised Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care and are welcoming and rewarding places to volunteer where you will meet many wonderful people and learn great new skills that may assist you both personally and professionally.
