This year, as part of Phase 8 of our District's long-term Facilities Plan, we have conducted extensive engagement and data analysis. Our shared goal is to expand access to high-quality programs across neighborhoods and ensure that the facilities where students learn support their success.
So far, this effort has included:
• 47 public listening and learning sessions
• 35 Principal data verification sessions
• A District-wide survey with over 5,700 responses
• Release of a data website sharing all school-based scores
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has shared their time, questions, concerns, and aspirations.
Emerging Themes
Throughout this data review and community engagement, four consistent themes have emerged:
1. Strengthening PreK–8 Programming Through Better Use of Space
2. Reducing Unnecessary School Transitions for Students
3. Reinvesting in Neighborhood High Schools as Community Anchors
4. Expanding Access to 5-12 Criteria-Based Schools
As we move forward, your perspective remains essential. We invite you to take this 5-minute survey to share your perspective on these emerging themes and any other feedback you have on the Facilities Planning Process.
