The San Francisco Transportation Plan (SFTP) is the blueprint for the city's transportation system development and investment. It includes an Investment Plan, limited to the expected transportation revenue over the next 30 years, and a Vision Plan, which outlines projects and programs that we want to fund with additional revenues.
Your input is essential to shaping this plan.

During our first round of outreach, the majority of respondents supported prioritizing transit operations at today’s service levels and investing in safer streets. With potential new funding, the priority was making transit more frequent, reliable, safe and clean.

Given that feedback, we are now focusing on the Vision Plan, which allows us to prepare a plan for when new revenues emerge with our economic recovery. The draft Vision Plan includes:
  • Restore funding to projects and programs at levels anticipated in SFTP 2050
  • Expand Muni transit service based on where we see demand
  • Expand transit service more comprehensively, with increased Owl service, service to Equity Priority Communities
  • Improve overall reliability and make transit more convenient
  • Implement priority traffic calming and multimodal safety projects
  • Fully fund community-based planning efforts
  • Plan and design transformative freeway and major street projects to improve connectivity
