The Uplift Connection, with the support of Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH), is pleased to announce available funds for
capacity building, specifically leadership development and training, for non-profit organizations across Missouri focused on
improving infant or maternal health outcomes for Black families, improving infant or maternal outcomes for rural families, and/or addressing intersecting racial and health equity issues.
The Scholarship Application will be open from May 4 to June 18. The scholarship funding is limited and we may be unable to fund all those apply. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions in early July.
Additional details about eligibility:
- Applicant organization must be a 501c(3) registered in the state of Missouri or registered in the state of Illinois but serving Missouri residents.
- Funds may be used for virtual or in-person trainings, workshops, and conferences for both Leadership Development and Training categories; all in-person programming must occur within the Health and Human Services Region 7 area--which includes Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa--or in Illinois.
- All training/conferences must take place before December 31, 2026.
- Funds may also be applied to necessary travel costs, including lodging at $150/night, mileage at $.72/mile, or food $68/day (the current federal rate).
- Organizations may apply for a scholarships between $250 to $1,000 to be used for one or more employees or those serving in a Board or Committee leadership role.
- Awarded applicants will be asked to share follow-up details regarding outcomes upon completion of the capacity building program. This follow-up will enable MFH to learn about quality training programs that nonprofit leaders find beneficial so that similar opportunities can be shared with other organizations in the future.
