General Licences: Scotland
Welcome
NatureScot is reviewing general licences in Scotland, which may result in changes. The review will evaluate all
16
General Licences.
NatureScot have advised the review will be made up of two work packages, each being completed over the coming years. During this process new General Licences will be developed and issued at the start of each calendar year.
BASC is gathering evidence from those who use these licences and is seeking your views so we can feed into the NatureScot process, with a well evidenced submission,
before the end of August
. If you operate under any of the General Licences in Scotland, or authorise their use on your behalf, please complete this BASC survey so that we can respond to NatureScot on behalf of members
.
We kindly ask you to submit your response to us no later than midnight on
16 August 2026
.
Please be aware BASC will never share your personal data with others. BASC will use the results in aggregate as part of our evidence to support shooting under general licence within Scotland. If you have any questions about how we will use the results, please email
monitoring@basc.org.uk
