Our Chaplaincy team at Sinnamon Village are seeking volunteers to assist residents both to and from the onsite church service on a Sunday morning. This includes collecting residents from their rooms and accompanying them to the service and then escorting them back to their room or living area after the service.

The Chaplaincy Assistant assists residents by:

  • Escorting residents to and from the Sunday morning church service
  • Providing support to elderly residents and establishing friendships
  • Encouraging independence, mental well-being, and connectedness
  • Assisting with the morning tea for residents after-service
  • Reporting relevant feedback to the Chaplain or staff.
This role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, are active and display a calm and empathetic manner.

Volunteer hours for this role can be on a short or long term basis. Sunday morning between the hours of 9.15am until 11.45am or as negotiated with the Chaplains.
This program is located within the Sinnamon Village Aged Care Community where the residents enjoy a wonderful sense of life, fun, and friendship.
