ACVC Survey on Ventilation
ACC- Critical Care Cardiology section

On behalf of the ACVC, thank you for your participation in this survey .
This survey will explore the use of positive pressure ventilation (PPV) in the CICU.

Respiratory failure is the most common critical care indication for admission to the cardiac ICU and it occurs in 30-80% of patients with cardiogenic shock. However, there is lack of data investigating different aspects of the respiratory support management (including ventilation modalities, training in non-invasive & invasive ventilation management of the health care professional). Consequently, there is likely high heterogeneity in the ventilation practice amongst different CICU/countries which may impact care and outcomes. This survey is aimed to frame the ventilation management in cardiogenic shock patients.

It is a cross-sectional survey, without entailing any patient data. It requires 3-4 minutes to be completed. The next step will be a proposal of research framework to fill the unmet need resulted by the current survey
