TELUS Wise Ambassador MOU (memorandum of understanding)

Thank you for becoming or continuing your role as a TELUS Wise Ambassador. You play a leadership role in educating Canadians on how to safeguard themselves, their families and communities by hosting Internet and smartphone safety workshops for Canadians of all ages.

This MOU outlines the expectations and responsibilities of being a TELUS Wise Ambassador. To carry on as a TELUS Wise Ambassador (a role that may be terminated by TELUS at any time) please review the roles and responsibilities below, electronically sign and submit within 2 weeks of completing your training.

Expectations and responsibilities of TELUS Wise Ambassadors:

·         I will represent TELUS with the highest level of professionalism when hosting TELUS Wise workshops.

·         I will be confident in presenting to small and large groups.

·         I will be comfortable with the materials I am presenting in all TELUS Wise workshops that I host (e.g. TELUS Wise footprint, TELUS Wise in control, TELUS Wise impact, TELUS Wise happiness, TELUS Wise for adults/parents and TELUS Wise seniors).

·         I will keep myself familiar with and only use approved TELUS Wise presentation materials, and will not make any alterations to them.

·         I will not co-present materials with individuals who are not trained as TELUS Wise Ambassadors with the exception of local police force members.

·         I will have a current Police Check  prior to completing my first TELUS Wise workshop.

·         I will respect TELUS Wise workshop participant's confidentiality if they approach me with a confidential matter (e.g. issues of sexting, cyberbullying, identity theft). If I am approached by a student (K-12) with an issue before or after a workshop, I will engage a teacher in the discussion with the child.

·        I will report any suspected abuse or neglect to the teacher and/or principal and report suspicions of physical, sexual and emotional abuse, neglect and risk of harm to the Children’s Aid Society. Details required to initiate report: School name, student name (first and last), teacher name, grade, concern.

·        I will have a current Police Check prior to completing my first TELUS Wise workshop.

·        I will not smoke or vape on school property or within 20 meters.

·        I will depart a location if asked and will do so immediately regardless of reason.

·        I will not share photos of students on social media without consent.  It is preferred that I retweet/share the school/location post as some students could be identified by the back of their heads.

·         I will commit to the Ambassador role for a twelve month period and complete at least 3-5 workshops/events during this time- depending on demand and my availability.

I agree to the above, and will fulfill the above expectations and responsibilities as a TELUS Wise Ambassador.
