About CERT program

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a nationally supported, locally implemented program that teaches people how to be better prepared for hazards that may affect their communities and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

The course will be taught in a three-class series.

The skills learned during this training can be applied both on campus and at home. To graduate from the class, each participant must attend all training sessions listed above. Upon graduation, each participant will earn a certificate and a CERT backpack containing all necessary tools to help out in disasters.
