Thank you for your interest in registering as a Community Visitor with Wesley Mission Queensland.  We currently have positions available at Sinnamon Park.

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is an Australian Government funded program established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and in the wider community with volunteer community visitors.

Our CVS program aims to enrich the quality of life of residents in aged care facilities - a “resident friend” - who may be socially isolated or lonely - whether for social or cultural reasons or due to disability.

As part of our CVS program, we are looking for friendly people who are looking to make a difference in the lives of our community’s seniors just by spending an hour per week or fortnight visiting and being a social friend to individuals living in an aged care facility.  Wesley Mission Queensland asks for a commitment to this role for a minimum of one year.

Community Visitors assist in ensuring our residents remain actively engaged and inspired every day. Quality time shared with a resident friend can include chatting, playing cards or board games, work on a hobby together, or discuss the local news. You might take a walk, grab a coffee in one of our onsite cafes, or do some gardening together.

Community Visitors are not involved in providing clinical or personal care to residents.

As a WMQ Community Visitor, you will have access to lots of benefits, such as:
  • Supply and pay for any security checks required for the position
  • Access to online and face-to-face wellness advisors
  • Great education opportunities
  • Free Flu Vaccinations
  • Exclusive shopping discounts
  • Being part of a team who really are making a difference in the lives of seniors in our Aged Care Communities.
