About Art from the Margins

Art from the Margins (AFTM) is part of Wesley Arts which is a creative initiative of Wesley Mission Queensland. It has been instrumental in bringing artists together and bridging the gap between artists living in isolation and the wider community since 2008. AFTM supports and promotes the work of artists living with adversity, including artists living with mental health issues, physical or intellectual disabilities, or experiencing homelessness and social isolation.
AFTM is a welcoming and rewarding place to volunteer, where you will meet many wonderful people from various backgrounds and learn great new skills that may assist you both personally and professionally.

There are lots of other benefits to volunteering with us as well, such as:

  • Great education opportunities
  • Exclusive shopping discounts
  • Access to online and face-to-face wellness advisors
  • Invitations to social events
  • Being part of a team that is making a difference in the lives of people in our local community.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof that they have received their initial two COVID-19 vaccinations before being registered.

Volunteers will also be required to have a suitable current security check on file at all times. If you do not have a security check, this can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.

For more information please visit the Wesley Mission Queensland website.
