The City of Wetaskiwin is undergoing a city-wide visioning process to develop a 50-year community vision through input from all members and segments of the community. This long-term, community-built vision will help focus and guide future resources and planning for the City of Wetaskiwin and to be a resource for all local groups and organizations. We feel this project is more important than ever, with the rapidly changing social, political, economic, and technological climate in our province and around the world.
To do this, we have hired an independent consultant, Stormy Lake Consulting, to engage our community and provide us with your honest feedback and perspectives. This will not only help us understand how we see ourselves today and how others perceive us, but also shed light on where we want to be in 50 years and what we need to do to get ourselves there.
We invite you to an engaging research workshop—with two opportunities to participate. You will be joined by members of the Wetaskiwin community including residents; business owners; special interest groups, clubs and organizations; City of Wetaskiwin Council and staff; and Maskwacis community members. As we can only accommodate a limited number of participants, your commitment to attending is very important to us.
Virtual workshop:

Wednesday, November 25 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
A Zoom conference link and instructions will be provided to all participants prior to the meeting.
In-person workshop:
Thursday, November 26 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Memorial Arts Centre (5206 - 50 Street)
Social distancing measures, PPE, and AHS health & safety guidelines will be put in place to ensure your safety and comfort.
This is not a traditional workshop. You will be working in small groups and discussing provocative questions that explore Wetaskiwin’s 50-year vision. All information gathered will be kept anonymous and included in a time capsule at the conclusion of this project as artefacts to be buried until 2070.
Please consider registering on the next page. Your involvement will be of great benefit to this visioning project and we know you will find it an enjoyable and valuable experience.
If you are unable to participate in a workshop, please consider participating in the other visioning initiatives underway, including the vision mural, Have Your Say website, and through social media. For more information on these initiatives click here.
