Welcome to the Office of Inspector General Public Safety Section's CPD Member Survey.

The Public Safety Section of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducts independent, evidence-based evaluations, inspections, and reviews of the operations, programs, policies, and practices of the City’s police and police accountability agencies: the Chicago Police Department (CPD), the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA), and the Chicago Police Board. The Public Safety Section is focused on enhancing the effectiveness of public safety, protecting civil liberties and civil rights, and increasing the public’s confidence in the system.

This survey seeks input from CPD members regarding your concerns about policing in Chicago and your priorities for improvement.

You must be at least 18 years old and a current or former member of CPD to complete this survey. Your participation is voluntary and anonymous. Summary statistics based on responses to this survey will be published in the Public Safety Section’s annual report.

The survey will take approximately five (5) to ten (10) minutes to complete. We greatly appreciate your time and insight.
