Palliative Care South East Ltd provides specialist palliative care and symptom support to people across the southeast region of Melbourne. They also provide bereavement support to carers and families for 13 months after the death of a loved one. Their services are free of charge and available 24/7 for all people living in their catchment area of Cardinia, Casey, Greater Dandenong and parts of Kingston.

As more terminally ill people want to remain at home to live their best lives, the demand for Palliative Care South East’s services has grown, with the organisation seeing a 55% increase in admissions in the past 3 years. This puts increasing pressure on their team to continue delivering specialist community support.

This is why Palliative Care South East is seeking $4.7 million in funding to finish a Palliative Care Community Hub that will enable them to continue their important work as their current site is no longer available.

The new building, located at 80 Victor Crescent, Narre Warren will provide significantly improved facilities for the 1200+ patients, carers and families, 65 staff members and 50 volunteers involved with their service. Their new site will include:
- Clinical and counselling rooms, therapeutic wellbeing gardens and a multi-purpose community and volunteer space.
- Space for community education and support programs for patients, clinicians and carers.
- An accessible early palliative intervention clinic and onsite support for symptom management, social support, therapies and counselling.

Palliative Care South East has already purchased the land for the new building, now they need your help to secure the funding for the Palliative Care Community Hub which will serve every member of the community who needs their care, skills and support. With this funding they will be able to complete the building and ensure their service can support additional people annually, making a significant difference to those living with a life limiting illness in our community.
