Overview of Youth Voices Count Survey Reduced Price Program and Process

Background:

B. Weyland Smith Consulting (BWSC), LLC has been offering youth behavioral health survey services for six years. In this time our survey product and process has evolved, and our team has become increasingly aware of cost barriers to accessing high quality, easy to interpret youth survey services. In the interest of enhancing community data and program capacity we are offering up to four reduced cost survey processes per calendar year.

A typical survey package ranges from $5,500-$8,000 for most communities. The lower end of the price range provides substance use core measures needed for competitive grant applications and data-driven prevention planning as well as mental health indicators and related risk and protective factors.  The upper end of the price range additionally includes optional sections on bullying, toxic stress, extracurricular activities, and sexual behaviors as well as the choice to include analysis of the data by subgroups, sex, gender, sexual identity and race/ethnicity, with special reporting on mental health and substance use risk factors.

Costs and Services:

For our reduced-price process, BWSC will offer our “Core Survey” for $2,250, Survey Add-On Sections for $130 each and analysis by subgroup for $90 each. This survey is available in Spanish. If other languages are needed, the recipient would be responsible for the cost of translation, which ranges from $300-$700 depending upon the language needed and the length of the survey (i.e. how many add-on sections are included). Mental health and other risk factor correlation or mental health and substance use correlation analysis would be available for $150 each, if desired. This offer reduces the price range from $5,500-$8,000 (not including translations beyond Spanish) to $2,250-$3,160. Recipients would receive the same survey services as offered to clients paying full price which includes support in planning and preparing for survey implementation, a full survey report (PDF), a PowerPoint of key findings and an Info brief.

Process:

Applications will be reviewed twice per calendar year by a committee of prevention specialists and evaluators.  Planned reviews will occur in January and June, the timing of which is aligned with common requests for survey services. Applications will be reviewed on completeness and need and will be scored using a rubric.
