Greetings from your Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission Northwest Region. The NW Region is comprised of State Parks in north Pierce, King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, San Juan, and Island counties. We hope you will take some time to complete our Youth Engagement survey.

Why are we surveying you? Washington State Parks is very interested in youth engagement and learning more about your preferences, thoughts and suggestions to improve State Park experiences for all youth. The NW Region is working with three University of Washington Education Student Volunteers to enhance our Youth Engagement Program. This survey is part of the program that is being developed.

This survey is primarily intended for youth 13 to 18 years of age. The information received will be used to possibly create new youth-based program offerings, look at easing access challenges to state parks experienced by youth, and learn more about park improvements that youth would be interested in seeing at State Parks in the future.

 We are also interested in creating an ongoing program to facilitate youth engagement, so we ask interest in serving on a NW Region Youth Advisory Committee. The committee will be comprised of only youth members and will meet four to six times per year with State Parks staff, primarily online, but in time hopefully in-person once a year when we are able. State Parks staff hopes that this new youth engagement effort will provide us with added information to serve youth more effectively and enhance our communication with youth.
