Since 1973, the Aggregate Minerals Survey has been conducted at four-yearly intervals. In 2019, the survey comes five years after the previous one, which was conducted in 2014.

These surveys provide an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of regional and national sales, consumption, distribution, and permitted reserves of natural aggregates. The information is collected from aggregates producers, and is collated at Mineral Planning Authority, regional, and national levels.

The collated results for the 2014 survey can be viewed and downloaded here.

This survey relates to aggregate sales, distribution, and reserves from 01 January to 31 December 2019.

The national collation of this survey is being undertaken by the British Geological Survey for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and the Welsh Government.

Guidance to support completion of this survey is available here.
