Enterprise Bargaining

CPSU, the Community and Public Sector Union, represents the Commonwealth, State and Territory government's public servants and related employees across the country and is Australia's largest public sector union. The CPSU is the union eligible to represent employees of industry super funds that our members are part of.

The CPSU understands the priorities, values and expectations of the members of Aware Super as many of them are also CPSU members. The CPSU is on the Board of Aware Super, along with Unions NSW, the Australian Education Union, the Nurses and Midwifery Federation and the Health Services Union. The other half of the Board are nominated by the state governments.

Aware Super has laid out what it proposes for employees. The CPSU believes that you deserve much better and we want to hear from you what you want for yourself and your colleagues.

Question Title

* 4. Aware Super is proposing different methods of regulating you and your colleagues employment. The company proposes to have:
  • some employees covered by an enterprise agreement with access to the usual entitlements like overtime, penalty rates, allowances
  • some employes temporarily covered by an enterprise agreement, which won't apply if they change jobs, without access to overtime, penalty rates, allowances but have an annualised salary inclusive of the award based minimum salary, nominal overtime, penalty rates and allowances
  • a majority of employees with salary & conditions determined soley by the employer, on individual contracts, without access to overtime, penalty rates, allowances but have an annualised salary inclusive of the award based minimum salary, nominal overtime, penalty rates and allowances
the CPSU does not agree and recomends to members that all employees be covered by an enterprise agreement. This means you and your colleauges have salaries and conditions are negotiated by your Union delegates in consultation with members and agree to by a vote of all staff. If the employer insists, senior executive managers may not be covered.

What do you want for you and your colleagues?
