The Commemorating Waitangi Day Fund will distribute up to $300,000 to support events that:
- commemorate the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi / the Treaty of Waitangi (the Treaty)
- increase awareness and knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/the Treaty
- encourage a wider mix of communities to take part in Waitangi Day events.
We are especially keen to support events organised by local government and/or communities in partnership with tangata whenua that invite wide community participation.
You are able to leave and return to the survey until it is submitted. Just be sure to use the same browser and do not clear the browser’s cookies between sessions.

We will use the information you provide to assess grant applications.
If you are successful your name, the title of your project, and the amount of money granted to you will be published by Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage.
By applying, you authorise us to disclose information to, or obtain information from, any other government department or agency, private person, or organisation for the purposes of assessing the application.
