Wesley Mission Queensland's friendly team of staff and volunteers at headspace Fraser Coast (headspace Hervey Bay and headspace Maryborough) assist young people aged 12 to 25 with mental health, general health, drug, alcohol, work and study issues.

With access to psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, and non-clinical staff, the service provides a holistic approach to support improving the mental health and general well-being of young people. headspace Fraser Coast offers enhanced support, including low-intensity and complex care coordination based on individual needs.

About Volunteering With Us

As part of our team of dedicated volunteers, you will be provided with training and support to perform your role efficiently and safely, including the opportunity to develop your skills in the area of Youth Mental Health.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.

Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance and Blue Card Combined check before commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.

Role Description: we are currently seeking Youth Advisory Committee members who are volunteers aged 12-25. The group represents each state and territory and work with headspace to ensure young people's voices and opinions remain front and centre. Youth Advisory Committee members must be available to attend meetings at headspace Hervey Bay in Urraween on Mondays between 4.30pm - 5.30pm or headspace Maryborough on Wednesdays between 5.00pm - 6.00pm.

Friends and Family Reference Group Volunteer
Position Number: 207606
Role Description: The Friends and Family Reference Group helps us understand what it is like for loved ones to be supporting young people in their recovery from mental health or substance use concerns. This group is for people aged over 26 who want to support and help lead the community by providing feedback and input into processes, systems and service delivery at headspace Fraser Coast. Friends and Family Reference Group volunteers must be available to attend a meeting at headspace Hervey Bay in Urraween, held monthly on Tuesday at 4.30pm to 5:30pm.
