Insights & Opportunities: NIEHS Strategic Planning 2024-2028 Strategic Plan Input The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is developing a new Strategic Plan. The current plan, Advancing Environmental Health Sciences, Improving Health, was established to guide NIEHS priorities through 2023. As the end of this period approaches, we are taking stock of our progress toward this plan’s goals and looking forward to how the current global environmental health context and needs, emerging ideas and practices, and research advances and opportunities might be considered in shaping the next phase of our Institute’s work.As part of this process, NIEHS also seeks the valued perspectives and critical input of the environmental health science community, including our many stakeholder groups and the public we ultimately serve. We invite your input to help us determine how we can best continue to provide global leadership to environmental health sciences. Please provide your ideas and comments in response to the Insights & Opportunities: NIEHS Strategic Planning input survey and provide your ideas and comments. These might include goals to be retained or discarded, gaps in the current scope, issues or areas that have emerged over the last five years, or any other information you wish to provide related to environmental health sciences and the mission of the NIEHS.NIEHS Mission: The mission of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences is to discover how the environment affects people in order to promote healthier lives.Input Format: In the first section, we ask for general input about the state of environmental health research and important topics/directions relevant to the NIEHS mission that you believe should be part of our new Strategic Plan. In subsequent sections, we invite your ideas and comments relevant to any of the current NIEHS Strategic Plan goals. You may choose to comment on any or all.
