The purpose of this study is to collect photo images of your fingers while you perform a series of gestures, touches, and button presses on various handheld consumer electronics (e.g., mobile phones or tablets – all of which would be disinfected between study test sessions). We ask that you refrain from using any form of hand moisturizers on the day of the research.
The results of this study will be used to assist a technology company with its product development and improvement.
The study will take place at a venue where you would be greeted by our research team members and directed to your individual test room location. For health and safety precautions we will be checking all arrivals for temperatures (with no-contact thermometer) and providing disposable masks, goggles, and hand sanitizer stations that we ask you to use before entry. You will be asked to put the mask and goggles on prior to entry to the venue and required to keep those on until departing. Please note that we will be implementing physical distancing protocols in the individual study rooms, where only 2 members (participant and a research staff) are allowed at once. To avoid larger group gatherings, we will not be providing a waiting room area. For this reason, if you qualify for the study, we ask that you plan your trip to the study site so you arrive at an appropriate time. Please do not arrive with fellow passengers/friends/family members unless they also have a study appointment at the same time. All members of your group will need to be screened prior to entry.
The overall length of the study should take no more than 60 minutes and you will receive a $200 incentive as a thank you for your time. Based on the data of your first visit, we may invite you to come back for a second visit so that it can gather additional data. The second visit will occur 3 days or up to 1 week after your first study visit, and you would receive an additional $200 if you complete this second visit.
