After changing their name, many transgender, gender-nonconforming, and other LGBQ+ people experience difficulties with their credit reports, financial accounts, and other financial/tax records.

The Center for LGBTQ Economic Advancement & Research, Equality California, and the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund are collecting stories about LGBTQ+ people's experiences with their finances and credit after their name change.

Stories we collect will be used to create research & advocacy to support more fair and equitable treatment for trans, gender-nonconforming, and LGBQ+ people after they change their names.

Responses to this survey are completely confidential, and no personally identifiable information is captured unless you voluntarily enter personal information in any of the comment fields. Your responses will be combined with those of many others and summarized in a report to further protect your anonymity.
