Plan Bentonville, Survey for Design Week

Our first Plan Bentonville survey gave us a good look at the Bentonville community — how you prefer to live, how you get around town, and how you think we should grow. Now, we’d like to put a finer point on some of the issues raised. Help us develop a more nuanced growth policy by answering the following questions.
Neighborhood Amenities

In our first Plan Bentonville survey, roughly half of all respondents indicated a desire to live close to restaurants, shops, and services. The following questions will help us visualize what you would like to live near.

Question Title

* 1. How close would you like to live to restaurants, shops, and services?

Question Title

* 2. If you moved within the city limits, what would you like to have nearby? (select all that apply)

Height of Buildings

90% of previous survey respondents agreed that all or some of the city’s future growth should be directed towards already developed areas to reduce the loss of agricultural and natural lands around Bentonville. The following questions will help us gauge people’s comfort with where taller buildings may be welcomed.

Question Title

* 3. In instances where the city grows up rather than out, how many building stories are you comfortable with on your street?

Question Title

* 4. How about 1-to-2 blocks away?

Question Title

* 5. How about a 5-minute walk away?

Question Title

* 6. How about a 5-minute drive away?

Getting Around

We’ve heard from previous survey respondents that they’ve had difficulty getting around town. The following questions will help us understand what locals think are related to traffic.

Question Title

* 7. To reduce traffic congestion, which of the following solutions would you support? (select 3 or more)

Question Title

* 8. What do you think makes traffic bad? (select all that apply)

Types of Housing

Most respondents in our previous survey preferred a single family home as their ideal. Since cities are made up of many different types of housing and people of different ages, lifestyles, and backgrounds, we’d like you to consider housing for people in your circle.

Question Title

* 9. What type of house do you think is right for a young adult just starting out on their own?

Question Title

* 10. What type of house do you think is right for a small family?

Question Title

* 11. What type of house do you think is right for a large family?

Question Title

* 12. What type of house do you think is right for empty nesters whose kids have moved away?

Question Title

* 13. What type of house do you think is right for aging adults who may have difficulties getting around?

Question Title

* 14. Which of the following might lead you to consider a townhouse or condo, especially as you age? (Choose all that apply)
