We want your feedback about the future of the State Route 710 terminus located north of I-10 in the Cities of Alhambra and Los Angeles. The terminus was originally planned to connect SR-710 to Pasadena, but that project was ended by the State Legislature.

The City of Alhambra’s Advancing Alhambra plan reimagines the SR-710 terminus to reduce cut-through traffic, improve safety, and support multi-modal transportation. It converts the freeway into a four-lane arterial road with bike lanes and a pedestrian path between I-10 and Valley Boulevard on the east side of the terminus. The City of Los Angeles has also proposed improvements to Valley Boulevard and Mission Road to enhance safety and traffic flow.

Building on those efforts, the SB710 Task Force is exploring additional transportation-related improvements that could further benefit the community. These cities have conducted extensive community engagement planning work in preparation of these plans.
  • Replacing the State Route 710 stub with a 4-lane arterial street with a landscaped median, a sidewalk and bike path on the east side, and bringing the on and off ramps together just south of Valley Blvd.
  • On-street bikeways in Alhambra on Hellman Ave., Westmont Dr., and Front St.
  • Separated bike lanes and bus lanes on Valley Blvd. and Mission Rd. in the City of Los Angeles
None of these existing plans will change with the results of this survey and planning effort. These efforts are meant to complement, not replace, the work already being done by the Cities of Alhambra and Los Angeles.
