Project Overview

Thank you for your participation in our research. The Service Council is a research organization that studies service (customer support, field service, service parts) businesses via surveys like the one below. You can find more at

In our research, we usually poll leaders of service businesses. In field service, that could be the VP of Field Service or someone with similar responsibilities. While it is good to get their perspective in terms of business direction, we often miss whats happening out in the field, as evidenced by front-line field engineers. (Note: we use the term field service engineers. This also includes those who might be called field service associates, agents, professionals, or technicians.) That is the purpose of this current research project.

This project will comprise of two research surveys.
1- Survey 1: The field service profession
2- Survey 2: Changes in field service (technology etc.) (You are here)

Each survey will consist of 10-16 questions each and should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete. Findings will be published/shared in aggregate form only. None of your individual responses will be shared in any form, not to your employer or the broader Service Council audience. If you would prefer, you do not need to enter your name or other contact details. We appreciate your participation.

Survey results will be available on a short webinar hosted by the Service Council on June 28, 2019 at 11am Eastern US ( 3pm GMT). Registration will be available at the end of this survey. If you have any questions, please email Chris Gera at
9% of survey complete.
