APS Focus Group Sign Up 2013 (Pearson)

Pearson is holding a number of Learning Events and Focus Groups at the upcoming APS conference focused on new learning tools and technology for your Psychology courses.

These events will be held Friday, May 24th and Saturday, May 25th at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Each event will offer a $100 payment for attending and completing a short follow-up survey. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Please complete the following survey to let us know which events you would be interested in joining. We will contact you once all placements have been made and will do whatever we can to accommodate your preferences.

Pearson Event Descriptions:

1. Improving student results in Intro Psychology: Pearson is developing new ways to engage students, help them attain better critical thinking skills, and improve overall results in their Introductory Psychology course. In this focus group we will discuss common course goals and challenges and will ask for your feedback on new learning tools in MyPsychLab. New learning tools include Writing Space with auto-feedback assignments, plus Dynamic Study Modules designed to promote fast learning and long-term retention.

2. Improving student results in Abnormal Psychology: Pearson is developing new ways to engage students, help them attain better critical thinking skills, and improve overall results in their Abnormal Psychology course. In this focus group we will discuss common course goals and challenges and will ask for your feedback on new learning tools in MyPsychLab, including Virtual Case Studies.

3. Improving student results in Child Development: Pearson is constantly developing new ways to engage students, help them attain better critical thinking skills, and improve overall results in their Child Development courses. In this focus group we will discuss common course goals and challenges and will ask for your feedback on Jeff Arnett’s new first edition Child Development: A Cultural Approach as well as on new learning tools in MyPsychLab, including MyVirtualChild.

4. Create custom, interactive digital course materials for all of your psychology courses: Bring your course to life with custom interactive, multimedia course materials created just for your unique course needs using Pearson, Third Party, and Open Educational Resources content. Digital Collections is ideal for instructors seeking to bring more customized, interactive technology into the classroom by enriching their existing print text with multimedia resources, customizing their existing digital resources, and/or flipping the classroom. Pricing is based only on what you select to use, so you can also control the cost of course materials for your students.
