Introduction

The Georgia Inclusive PostSecondary Education Consortium is creating the chance for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to go to college. Many students grow up expecting to go to a college, university, or technical school after high school. We call these postsecondary educational options. But, students with intellectual and developmental disabilities have historically been told not to even consider these.

While we know that postsecondary education is not for everyone, we also know that many students with intellectual and developmental disabilities benefit from a college experience. At this time there is only one postsecondary program in Georgia. We are working to increase the number of college programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our consortium includes students, parents, teachers, professionals, and community members. As we meet with colleges, we want to make sure that we are telling them what you want! Who are the students looking for a college experience? What do they want from college?

Please answer the following questions. This will help us to understand your interest in post-secondary education options in Georgia for your son or daughter.
